Giakoumaki
Pinelopi Giakoumaki was born in 1953 in Thessaloniki.
She graduated from the University of Athens School of Dentistry in 1976 and then started her postgraduate studies in France, at Paris XIII (Montrouge) School of Dentistry in Paris. From 1980 to 1982 she worked in a dental clinic of the European Community in Brussels. She has also worked as a scientific associate at the University of Athens School of Dentistry, where she participated in conferences, scientific research and educational programs in schools all over Greece, under the auspices of the Athens University.
In 1984 she started her professional career as an orthodontist in her own clinic. At the same time she was offered to participate in the upgrading of the Orthodontic Centre in the Social Security Foundation. There she took over, attended and treated a large amount of orthodontic cases both in Athens and Rhodes, as the head of the Foundation’s orthodontic cases. Her work there provided her with a wealth of clinical experience and the moral rewards of community service.
Athens Dental Care
In 2006 she is fulfilling her student dream to establish a full-service dental care facility run by an integrated team of multi-specialty dentists. A dental clinic that proposes and applies to patients complete oral rehabilitation protocols, according to the latest scientific developments in dentistry always oriented to the “green” management of a business. In 2010 she joined the scientific team of the “Detox Center”, a health and nutrition company, where she gained a wealth of knowledge which she later incorporated in her treatments. From 2013, she has been working in Brussels in the Orthodontic Department of the Clinique Antoine Depage (2013-2014) and Centre Dentaire de Jette.
Other activities
She is a member of the Athens Dental Association, a regular member of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), a founding member of the Society of Social Dentistry, a member of the Belgian Dental Association (Societe de Medecine Dentaire). She has also been supporting volunteerism and organizations that help the planet and its people for many years.

Preventive Orthodontics for children under the age of 12, is designed to prevent the development of a future orthodontic problem or to suppress it at an earlier age. Most commonly, it corrects skeletal problems of the jaws and the lack of space for permanent teeth to erupt.
